Immigration Essay: Should the Dream Act be passed?
Illegal immigration is a controversial topic in America. It is also a complicated topic; there are many
different aspects to the debate over illegal immigration. As we read last class, one of the issues involved
the children of illegal immigrants. For this assignment, you will practice both your research and writing
skills. The assessment is a letter, written either to support or oppose the Dream Act.

Go to computer lab- locate at least 2 additional credible and relevant sources (Remember
Google news!)
Read your two sources- YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PRINT- but remember to copy the bibliographic
information (author, title of article, date, etc)
Highlight (or take notes) on information that can help you answer the essential question
Begin to organize your letter

Tuesday 1/8: A-229, B-229
Wed 1/9: G- Lab 1, H- 229
Thursday 1/10: B- Lab 1, H- Lab 1
