Director
Q: What are your dreams and goals in life?
A:
My dreams and goals in life are to one day be a College
Professor. My Ultimate dream would be to one day be a teacher to Magonistas again but in College! I would like to be a professor for a Mexican American Studies class and also train teachers on how to be cultural competent and how to teach students from cultural backgrounds.
”
Q: Where are you from?
A:
“I was born here in Denver CO! I was raised in East
Denver, Park Hill area (NOT Stapleton) and went to all public schools. My Dad is from Guamuchil, Sinaloa and My mom was born in Durango but grew up in Juarez. Although I was born here my cultural heart belongs in Mexico.
”
Q: What do you love about RFMA?
A:
“I love everything about RFMA! I love that I can feel comfortable at being me at school. I love that I can relate to all the students and families. RFMA has ultimately been my family for years! I love all the students, families, and staff. I love that Magonistas are learning about their culture while at the same time being held to high expectations. I love that
RFMA is more than just a school but a movement! At one time I know that a Magonista will speak out on an injustice. I love that all of our Magonistas who have graduated keep coming back. Even though I tell them go home! I really actually love seeing them there because it means that to them RFMA is home. I can go on forever about why and what
I love about RFMA.
