Party for Best Classroom Attendance
Don’t forget, from now until Thursday, October 8th it is
extremely vital that all Magonistas are in class before 8:25 am.
RFMA will be having a contest to see which classroom has the
HIGHEST ATTENDANCE RATE! The classroom with the
highest attendance rate will win a PARTY!
Volunteers Needed
RFMA is looking for volunteers to make sugar skulls for our
upcoming Día de Muertos celebration. If you are interested in
making sugar skulls please see Mr. Zamudio in the front office.
Please note the RFMA will be issuing credit towards volunteer
hours for your time donated.
Donations
RFMA will be issuing credit towards volunteer hours for any
bags of individually wrapped candy. The individually wrapped
candy will be used for our upcoming Día de Muertos
celebration. Please bring your donations to the front office.
Thank you!
Volunteer Hours
Volunteer opportunities are available to view on an Internet
calendar! Parents need 10 volunteer hours per student -- they
can be done at school events, in reading groups, in the library
and lunchroom, and through donation of materials to
classrooms. The links are available on our Facebook page and
website, and of course, you are always welcome to stop and
check at the front office.
Box Tops
Thank you to everyone who has brought in box tops so far! The
following classrooms have the most box tops;
1. Martinez with 136 box tops
2. Tigwell with 113 box tops
3. Zamora and Puff with 90 box tops
Attendance Policy
We would like to remind RFMA’s families the attendance
policy. Our handbook states, “RFMA’s doors open at 8:10
A.M. each morning for breakfast. Students must arrive
between 8:10 A.M. and 8:30 A.M. Students arriving after
8:30 A.M. are considered tardy. If your student is late to
school, you must come into the front office to sign him or her
in; otherwise the student will be marked as absent. Every
three tardies will equal one absence and be recorded in the
student’s file. These absences count in determining if a
student is habitually truant and whether further disciplinary
action is necessary. If a student is late fifteen times in a year,
it is considered a severe issue. The School Administration will
schedule a conference with the student’s parent to discuss
the problem and whether the student should consider
enrolling in another school.”
