Program Update: Summer Camp
Our 2014 Summer camp was a success. HFMD in collaboration with
Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota hosted a six day summer
camp for 60 children with hemophilia and other chronic bleeding
disorders.
Program Update: Emergency Financial Assistance
In 2014 the HFMD provided crisis financial assistance for patients and
their families in need, fulfilling 75 requests. Families requested assistance
in a number of areas: medical expenses, rental assistance, insurance
premiums, groceries, gas/mileage, lodging, to name a few. Our
Emergency Financial Assistance program was again sponsored by the
following organizations & companies: Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of
Minnesota, Mayo Clinic, University of Minnesota Fairview, Baxter
BioScience, and Novo Nordisk.
Program Update: Post-Secondary Scholarships

Who Do We Serve (and Where)
Facebook
Facebook.com/theHFMD
In the tri-state area of Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota there
are approximately 880 individuals effected with hemophilia or related
bleeding disorders. The HFMD is a non-profit organization dedicated to
providing programs and services for those individuals and their immediate
families.
Since 1965, we have been a valuable resource for the bleeding disorders
community. Through collaboration with our affiliated hemophilia
treatment centers, we provide important medical education and support for
patients affected by hemophilia and other genetic bleeding disorders.

HFMD hosts events and programs, in order to give members the
opportunity to learn more about bleeding disorders and to network with
each other. HFMD committed to eliminating barriers to program
participation; which includes covering many associated costs for
members, including lodging and mileage reimbursement for those living
out-state to attend meetings in the Twin Cities.
