The post holder may be required to work at other locations.

Grade:
Salary: £28,600 to £31,750 per annum inclusive of London
Weighting. We will normally appoint at the bottom of the salary scale unless the successful candidate has relevant experience relating to the person specification over and above what is required.
Main purpose of the Job 2.
The post holder will assist the Finance Business Partners in the production of timely, accurate and relevant management accounting information and analysis to support business decisions. The post holder will be expected to assist the FBPs to develop and enhance the quality of management accounting information and analysis of relevant business cases/projects and breakdown complex data sets into meaningful reports.
3. Main Activities and Responsibilities
Budget development
Assist in the issuing of budget templates and supporting budget holders in completing these on a timely basis.
Assist budget holders in the development of other ad-hoc budgets, such as project budgets.
Assist with inputting agreed budgets into the finance system.
Management accounting, budget reporting and support
Assist in the production of monthly management accounts to deadlines showing performance against budget
Assist with meeting budget holders to seeking explanations for budget variances, and take remedial action where required
Assist in the production of the College’s quarterly reforecast.
To assist in the production of the year-end financial statements, preparing appropriate back up for any accruals, deferments etc.
To ensure the reconciliation of appropriate control accounts on a monthly basis.
To support the FBPs present at internal training events as part of the
Finance Department Staff Development offer to City Lit staff.
Report reconciliations
Assist with the reconciliation of appropriate reports on monthly basis.
Assist the Finance & Systems Accountant with the inputting of income data into the financial system on a timely basis, and reconciled to the source data.
Analysis and project reporting
To set-up approved projects on the finance system and provide financial monitoring information to project managers
Assist in the completion of a monthly management information reporting pack for the two faculties this role supports.
Assist the FBPs in the setup of analytical tools in order to convert complex data sets into meaningful analysis.
Assist the FBPs in the setup of a portfolio of key performance indicators which should be condensed into a set of strategic KPIs published in the monthly management information pack for the Executive Team.
Additional activities and responsibilities
Assist the Finance Business Partners in ad-hoc finance related tasks, as and when required.
General administrative duties
Other transaction processing tasks as required
Contributing to the work of the Finance team including covering the work of other post holders during periods of leave
Any other duties as appropriate to the post.

Qualifications
Must be ACA, ACCA, CIMA part qualified.
Should have a degree or equivalent that can be shown to be relevant for the role.
Work experience
Proven experience of working in a finance function
You have excellent IT skills with the ability to use Access, Word and Outlook to a good standard and spreadsheets and accounting packages at an advanced level.
You have a strong understanding of financial systems and procedures.
