to enable participants to acquire a critical strategic awareness of the role of
Information Communication Technology in the voluntary non-profit organisation and
their associated managerial responsibility.
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to
1. Describe the technological context of the contemporary non-profit organisation,
2. Explain the strategic role of ICT in the effective functioning and development of non-profit organisations,
3. Apply the steps in the strategic technology planning process and construct a technology plan for their
organisation,
4. Manage the practical and legal issues relevant to the management of IT in the non-profit organisation.
Associated Programme Outcomes:
Implement best practice in managing communication, and human resources, fund-raising, marketing, planning,
strategising and policy analysis in voluntary and community sector settings;
Apply critically management, , financial, and legal principles appropriate to the non-profit and voluntary sector to
questions and problems faced in management practice;
