The module will focus on managerial roles, analysing organisations from four theoretical frameworks and will introduce students to the practice of planning and leading Learning Outcomes: On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to 1. Apply critically management principles to managerial work based on the fundamentals of organisational theory, 2. Acquire skills in analysing organisations, the behaviour of people in organisations, and organisational issues such as planning, decision-making and workforce diversity, 3. Learn to evaluate his or her own managerial abilities and style, 4. Learn to reflect on experience in non-profit organisations and think and write critically. Associated Programme Outcomes: Apply critically management, social justice, ethical, financial, and legal principles appropriate to the non-profit and voluntary sector to questions and problems faced in management practice Reflect on their experience in the light of both the theory of management of voluntary and service organisations … in order to critique past practice and present policies.
