Academic Highlights
Religion This week we finished
Picture Day!
Next Friday October 2nd is Picture
Day! Dress nice!! All of the
students were given a picture day
order envelope. These envelopes
are in their Friday Folder. They
must be returned by Friday
October 2nd! You may send them
back before October 2nd and I will
re-distribute them on picture day.
Scholastic Orders
Two new scholastic order
pamphlets were also sent home in
the Friday Folder today. Orders are
due by Friday October 16th our
class activation code is P7BJH
learning about the Ten
Commandments. We took an openbook Religion Test on Chapter 3.
Math and Social Studies Info
Math – We are almost done with Chapter 2,
addition and subtraction. We will be
finishing up our last couple of sections,
subtracting whole numbers and money, and
looking for patterns. We will have a chapter
review and then we will have our first unit
test on Thursday October 1st. Please see
Ms. Kim's website for helpful links. This
week, a link to Khan Academy is posted. It
is on rounding.
Social Studies - We will be finishing
lesson 3 early this week and will test
on chapter 2 Friday, October 2.
Reading We have been reading
about Planets in their Habitats, working
on comprehension strategies and
working in cooperative learning groups.
The reading test will be next Friday. It is
a very short test. The students will have
been working with their stories for over
two weeks. Our first book report will be
due October 16th. Check under news on
the website for more information!
Monday
Science We learned about how a seed
Tuesday –
is formed. We took a science quiz on
Lesson 3.
Wednesday –
Language We worked on Descriptive
Writing. The students are working on
writing their own descriptive
paragraph.
