Benefits of the cross

Father I ask your forgiveness I have judged You as

recognize that you are Lord and you know what’s best

keep me from receiving your best for my life.

1.
You are a born-again Christian, having accepted
Jesus Christ into your heart as your Lord and
Savior, and having had your sins washed away by His
cleansing blood.
2. You accept the Bible as the inerrant Word of God.
3. You demonstrate your love and respect for God by
your commitment to knowing His Word.
4. You have an attitude of submission to what God has
shown you from the Bible.

4. Effective ministry – Reveal His strategies for ministry and
intercession
“For He whom God has sent speaks the words [rhema] of God, for God
does not give the Spirit by measure.” (Jn. 3:34, NKJ)
He will reveal his plans and purpose for us, Give us insights into people and
cultures ahead of time. He will show us what He is doing. He will give
us creative strategies for ministry. Some churches are doing Spiritual
reading at fair grounds and listening to God for people.

Ministry Prayer
Father I recognize that I have stopped asking to
hear from God, in fact I have even discounted
the value of prophetic voice. I ask your
forgiveness. I want to hear from God. I desire
earnestly spiritual gifts especially the gift of
prophecy.
I ask you to speak to me to teach me to know
your voice, and to speak forth the words he
gave me two others to encourage, comfort, and

What to Look for in a Spiritual Counselor:
1. A close friend, one who knows the sheep, and whose
sheep recognize his voice.
2. One who has a solid biblical orientation.
3. One who can sense the voice of the Spirit of God in
his own heart.
4. One who is willing to commit himself to the sheep,
who will invest his time and energy, and is willing to
lay down his life for the sheep for whom he is
responsible.
5. He himself receives counsel.
6. He is ahead of me in the area.

7 Biblical principles that support for the concept that
spontaneous thoughts are the voice of the spirit world
1. All thoughts are not our thoughts.
II Cor. 10:3 For though we live in the world,
we do not wage war as the world does. [4] The
weapons we fight with are not the weapons of
the world. On the contrary, they have divine
power to demolish strongholds. [5] We
demolish arguments and every pretension
that sets itself up against the knowledge of
God, and we take captive every thought to

2. Paga – the chance encounter (Pop into your head
or dreamed)
The Hebrew word for intercession is paga, which
literally means “to strike or light upon by chance,”
or “an accidental intersecting.”
GE 28:10 Jacob left Beersheba and set out for
Haran. [11] When he reached a certain place, he
stopped for the night because the sun had set.
Taking one of the stones there, he put it under his
head and lay down to sleep. [12] He had a dream in
which he saw a stairway resting on the earth,

believer’s heart.

Character of God’s Thoughts
1.
They are like your own thoughts, but
spontaneous, not analytical
2. They can easily come as God speaking in the
first person.
3. They are often light, gentle, and easily cut
off by any exertion of self (own thoughts,
will, etc.).
4. They will have an unusual content; they will be
wiser, more loving and motive-oriented than
your thoughts.

Character of God’s Thoughts
5. They will cause a special reaction within your being
(e.g., a sense of excitement, conviction, faith,
life, awe and peace).
6. When embraced, they carry with them a fullness
of strength to carry them out, and a joy in doing
so.

14 Practical Suggestions for Journaling
1. Journal when you are alert and ready.
2. Write in a notebook, type, or use a hand-held
tape recorder.
3. Grammar and spelling are not critical when
journaling.
4. Keep your journal secluded, and use codes
when necessary.
5. Date all entries.
6. Include your communion with God, dreams,
visions, interpretations, etc.
7. God will cause your journal to naturally focus
on faith, hope, and love (I Corinthians 13:13).

8. Have a good knowledge of the Bible as you journal so
that God can draw upon that knowledge.
9. When you begin to journal, write down the question
you have. This will facilitate getting a response.
10. As you are learning, you may want to journal daily.
11. Skip a line when you move from God speaking to you
speaking, and vice versa. Re-read your last entry
before you begin your next entry
12. Review entire journal when notebook is full and write
a brief summary.
13. Don’t ask for dates
14. Journal in the area God has given you authority and
responsibility.

Obstacles to internalizing this new truth
1.
When anyone hears the message about the kingdom
and does not understand it, the evil one comes and
snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is
the seed sown along the path.
2.
The one who received the seed that fell on rocky
places is the man who hears the word and at once
receives it with joy. [21] But since he has no root,
he lasts only a short time. When trouble or
persecution comes because of the word, he quickly
falls away.
