1 2 •eCampus uses Blackboard as the main delivery channel for online courses. •You will be assigned a username and password to access your online courses through Blackboard. •Once you enroll with TROY, you will be assigned a unique email address. This should be used to communicate with your instructor and TROY staff. •Online courses are set up differently depending on the instructor; however, there are standard course menu buttons in every online course. They might be named differently, so check with your instructor if you are not sure about the purpose of a course menu area. 1. This is the standard eCampus course menu that most courses are based off. 2. Faculty have the discretion to rename the buttons listed in the course menu; however, a site map under the Start Here button will help you navigate the course easily. 3. Faculty have the discretion to add new buttons to the course menu as they see fit. 3 Start Here › This is where you will find the Site Map. › Any information your instructor deems important to know before the start of the course will be listed here including Student Expectations, Student Contract, Prerequisites, etc. Announcement › This is the course entry point. › All the course announcements will be listed here so check periodically for important information regarding changes to the course schedule, due dates, reminders, etc. › Start navigating the course by accessing this button first. 4 5 6 Instructor Contact This button houses important information about your instructor’s education, as well as contact information such as email address, phone numbers, and virtual office hours. 7 • Required assignments are generally listed here. • Some instructors may also use this area of the course for exams and quizzes. •You could be asked to submit work via links located under this button. Information on using the Assignment Feature is included in the Student Resources Area within Blackboard. 8 9 • The Discussion Board is an important part of the learning process in most eCampus courses. • It typically consists of different content forums, in addition to the Ask the Instructor forum and the Student Lounge forum. •You will be required to answer DB questions and respond to some of your classmates in most courses. •Make sure to read the requirements for posting DB answers and responses before you post. • Use the Ask the Instructor forum to post questions you might have about the course content. •Use the Student Lounge forum to communicate with your classmates about non-course related subjects. This is where you will find your required exams and quizzes for the course. Some of your courses might require a proctored exams. Some of your exams might require Lockdown Browser. Some of your instructors might use the Assignment Section for exams and quizzes instead. 10 • Faculty use this area to list important links that are relevant to the course and its content. •The TROY Library link is listed here. 11 Tech/Proctor Info It houses important links every student should keep handy.
