Research the role of women in the Civil War: nurses, soldiers, laborers, spies, etc.
Include a picture, photo, or visual representation of their activities, along with a two
slide summary of EACH of their role(s)
Minimum 5 women (5 x 3 slides = 15 slides plus title slide)
PowerPoint: highlight the technology of the Civil War: weapons, transportation,
communication, etc. (minimum 12 slides, examples of each required)
Investigate the photography of Mathew Brady. PowerPoint - Include samples of his
most important photographs with captions explaining the significance and why you
chose it. (10 pictures minimum, plus biography about Mathew Brady)
Report on medical practices during the Civil War. Be sure to address where and
how casualties were cared for and why were there so many deaths? (PowerPoint
12 slide minimum)
Create a one page ‘rap’ that discusses any event about the Civil War that is based
on slang from the Civil War era. 100 words or more
By hand, recreate a map of a historical battle from the Civil War and label what
happened there – required poster board
