AUSTRALIA
1. South Australian Research and Development Institute (SARDI)
– provides research capability to primary industries in
South Australia
Dr. Peter Hayman - Principal Scientist, Climate Applications
As project leader, he will work to draw together the input
from economists, applied climatologists and farm advisers
with a particular interest in learning packages for
intermediaries promoting SCF.

2. New South Wales Department of Primary Industries (NSW
DPI)
- largest provider of research and extension services
to agriculture in NSW
Dr. John Mullen – Principal Research Scientist and
Economics Coordinator
His main responsibility is in the review of methods of
valuing SCF and the case study in the rangelands of
NSW and in supporting the case studies in the
Philippines

3. The Faculty of Rural Management, University of Sydney
-
has research strengths in agribusiness, farming
systems and natural resource management
Prof. Kevin Parton – Dean, Faculty of Rural Management
His work in this project will concentrate on the relationship
between the economic and psychology approaches to
decision making and valuation of SCF
Mr. Jason Crean – Project Officer
He will be responsible for the operational aspects of the
policy case studies in Australia

PHILIPPINES
1. PAGASA (Weather Bureau)
National Meteorological Service which is mandated to mitigate
or reduce the loss of life, property and the economy of the
nation occasioned by typhoons, floods, droughts and other
destructive weather events
Dr. Flaviana Hilario – Chief, Climatology and
Agrometeorology Branch (CAB)
She will supervise the preparation of SCF and will coordinate
with concerned agencies in the smooth implementation of the
project
Dr. Aida Jose – Local Consultant
She will be involved in the overall analysis and interpretation
of the data and information needed in the preparation of SCF

Ms. Edna Juanillo – Head, Climate Information
Monitoring and Prediction Center (CLIMPC), CAB,
PAGASA
She will be responsible for the interpretation of the
different climate parameters which will be vital in the
preparation of the SCF and will assist in the coordination
activities in the conduct of the study
Ms. Rosalina de Guzman – Asst. Head, CLIMPC
Will be in charged of data processing to be used
for the generation of SCF tailored for the different users’
needs
Mr. Ernesto Verceles – Weather Specialist II, CLIMPC
Will be participating in the translation of global c climate
forecasts into local climate predictions

2. Philippine Institute for Development Studies
- provides analysis of socio-economic problems and
issues to support the formulation of plans and policies for
sustained social and economic development in the
Philippines; establishes a continuing channel of
communication between policy makers and planners on
one hand, and researchers on the other hand; promotes
the utilization of research results
Dr. Celia Reyes – Research Fellow II
Will be responsible for leading the policy case studies in
the Philippines and will participate in the in the Australian
policy case studies

Ms. Jennifer T. Liguton – Director, Research Information
Staff, PIDS
Will be directly coordinating policy workshops and for a
and will participate in the policy case studies in the
Philippines and Australia
Mr. Mario Feranil – Director, Project Services and
Development, PIDS
Will be involved in the evaluation of farm level case study
component, providing econometric analysis, skills and
advice.
Mr. Christian Mina – Research Assitant, PIDS
Will work with the case studies and the development of
tools and information packages on valuing SCF

Recognized as the center of excellence for instruction,
research and development in agriculture, and related fields
including forestry in the Visayas
Dr. Canesio Predo - Assistant Professor in Resource and
Environmental Economics, National Abaca Research
Center
Will be particularly involved in the review of methods of valuing
SCF and in the application of these methods in identified case
studies in the Philippines
Ms. Eva Monte – Research Assistant
Will assist in coordinating the the activities for the Philippine
case studies
