To support the development, implementation and
operation of Project and Programme Management
processes, systems and reporting.

ROLE:
To support the development, implementation and analysis of Programme
Management processes and systems. This supports the creation and evolution of
supporting processes, systems and risk management tools – such as Primavera and
interfaces to Financial information. This role will also coordinate periodic project
reporting, audits and post project reviews.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following list is typical of the duties that the post holder will be required to
perform. It is not necessarily exhaustive and other duties of a similar type or level may
be required from time to time. The post holder will be required to use his or her
initiative and work unsupervised for considerable periods of time.
 To support the Programme Controls Manager in defining, documenting and
implementing Programme and Project Management Processes.
 To undertake periodic reviews of the programme providing support, challenge and
analysis of project progress, costs and outcomes.
 To provide planning expertise and support in the use of PMO tools – such as
Primavera P6 to the PMO team and Project Managers.
 To facilitate project health checks, audits and post project reviews and prepare and
collate reports on their outcomes.
 To support the ARP delivery team throughout the reporting cycle to ensure
reporting outputs are delivered to appropriate timescales and quality.

 To implement new processes and support and train Project Managers in their
operation.
 To ensure lessons learned by the Programme are captured and actioned in a process
of continuous improvement.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Essential
 Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
 Understanding of the full lifecycle of projects with experience in the stage-gate
process or similar Project Management methodology.
 Strong business analysis skills with ability to clearly document and communicate
business processes and requirements.
Ability to assimilate information from a wide variety of sources into accurate reports.
Strong planning capability to be able to support programme developments.
 Demonstrable IT skills (Microsoft Office and specialist project and programme
management tools).
 Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal.
Desirable
 Experience in working in an engineering/project management environment
 Experience of Primavera P6 suite of Programme Management Applications.
 A recognised Project Management qualification.
