So were Mayans. The Aztecs sacrificed people to the gods in hopes of them doing a specific request. (rain, crops grow, surplus food, etc.) Mayans believed gods influenced daily life. Most infamous one is the sun god. Mayans sacrificed people in hopes of preventing accidents. Incans never forced conquered people to worship their religion. They made ceremonies to the sun god, and tried to tie the sun down to stop winter… They thought the kings were related to the sun god, so they never died. Trade/ Economy Incans economy based on trade + services. Didn’t have many valuables. The Incans valued cloth. It was very important and hard to produce. They also traded llamas, pots, gold, and silver. Incans had no currency, so they only traded items for items. Mayans economy was based on agriculture. They had no currency, and traded like the Incans. They had few valuables, but some were Cacao (chocolate), seeds, salt, and gold. The items formed the upper class. Gothic Architectures. Advancements in trading. Europe acquired many goods from all over the world: silk, spices, soaps, rugs, and luxury goods.
