Objective/Goal #1 - The student will be able to define the terms associated with the study of the
Old Testament.

List the specific assessment methods utilized to measure progress toward this goal.
Include a brief description of the instruments used, as well as an explanation of the data
collection process. Attach a copy of each assessment instrument, if possible.
o Quizzes and exams were used to assess the student’s ability to define and use Old
Testament terms.

For each assessment, list and/or describe the standard or benchmark to which outcomes
will be compared.
o Questions were selected at random from quizzes 1, 2, the mid-term exam and the
final exam to demonstrate student learning. Students should score at least 75 on
the questions.

Describe and/or provide data on the outcomes (results) of the assessments
o Random question #1 (quiz 1)—80% of students got this question correct.
o Random questions #2 (quiz 1)—100% of the students got this question correct.
o Random question #3 (mid-term)—75% of the students got this question correct.
o Random question # 4 (final exam)—100% of students got this question correct.

Provide an analysis of the outcomes and their comparison to the benchmark.
o The benchmark was meet by this class.

List improvements, if any, that need to be made based on the results.
o Question 3—dealing with inspiration—though the benchmark was achieved, had
fewer students answer correctly. More emphasis will be given to this area of
instruction.
 List action steps, if any, that must be taken to ensure progress toward the goal during the
next assessment cycle.
o All goals were achieved.
 List budget implications, if any, of the required action steps.

Objective/Goal #2 - The student will be able to name the Old Testament books in order of their
appearance in the English Bible.




o Quizzes and exams were used to assess the student’s ability to name the OT
books.

o Quizzes, exams, and discussion forums were used to assess the student’s ability to
identify OT divisions.
For each assessment, list and/or describe the standard or benchmark to which outcomes
will be compared.
o Questions were selected at random from the final exam to demonstrate student
learning. Students should score at least 75% on the questions.
o In student forums, students will demonstrate a knowledge of OT history measured
by a standard rubric.


o Random question #1 —60% of students got this question correct.
o Random question #2 —75% of the students got this question correct.
o Student forums—100% of the students participated and scored high according to
the rubric.

o History seems to be a problem for some students. Therefore, combined with the
textbook, the instructor will develop a power point to aid student’s understanding.

characters.
