Project #1 Biographical Mini-Report DUE: 12 November You will write a short, basic report on an individual important to the time period which we will be covering in the second nine weeks. I expect you to use multiple sources that are reliable. While there is nothing wrong with Wikipedia for fast information, it should not be a source that makes an appearance on your Work Cited page. Please review MLA guidelines on how to cite correctly. You can find help on-line at: http://www.owl.english.purdue.edu; http://library.hunter.cuny.edu/tutorials/mla/mla_tutorial.html; or I have handbooks you can borrow. Remember that, other than common knowledge information, anything you write that is not in your own words must be quoted and/or credited. Your report needs, at a minimum, an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You might want to devote one paragraph to basic information like life chronology and then another paragraph on accomplishments/ideas/impact. Your polished report should be no less than 350 words (about 1⅓ pages), doublespaced, 12-point, TimesNewRoman font and should follow MLA guidelines for format (if you don’t know what this is, ask) with the Work or Works Cited on a separate page. I expect a minimum of two quotes in the text. Which also means you may need parenthetical citations. We will have a few class meetings in the computer lab for you to do research and write this report.
