Students will be able to apply each of the Baldrige criteria to document business processes
and results.
Students will be able to evaluate documentation of business processes and results according
to the Baldrige Scoring Guidelines and write findings on “strengths,” “OFIs,” and the report of
findings.
Students will be able to apply Six Sigma, Lean, ISO 9000 and other quality standards and tools
to case studies and examples, and evaluate results.

The BBA mission and vision statements include a focus on Baldrige-Quality business education.
Students have asked for more opportunity to study these standards and their application directly. This
class will help meet these program and student-learning needs.

As a senior-level course, students are expected to communicate effectively (orally and in writing) in
order to succeed in this course. BBA 305W helps prepare students to meet this requirement. BBA
330 – Supply Chain & Operations Management – provides a background in quality management,
processes, and results that are the basis for the Baldrige Quality standards and other quality
management principles addressed in this course.

Course description - Provides an introduction to the foundations of quality management and a detailed

Course structure/approach – Web-based course using a traditional textbook, supplemented with videos and
other instructional materials. The course will be organized into weekly content folders located on the Course
Content page (the course “home” page). The first document in each file will give an overview of the
requirements for that week and include links to other parts of the course such as the journals, videos, audios,
supplemental readings, and quizzes. Learning activities may include quizzes, discussion, journals, papers,
projects, and so forth.

 Retests/makeup tests – no retests; tests may be made up due to documented circumstances beyond
the control of the student as approved by the instructor

on any specific assignment or exam or an F in the class, and may be expelled from the class or the
