Position Description Title: Manager Financial Strategy & Planning Position Number: Classification: Division: ACTEW Corp Branch: ACTEW Finance Reports to: Senior Manager Finance & Accounting POSITION OVERVIEW Responsible to the Senior Manager Finance & Accounting for the ACTEW accounting and reporting function, including budgeting and long term forecasting, interpretation of financial performance, position and forecasts, provision of process and report improvements, provision of expert accounting and financial advice and management of the Financial Strategy and Planning team. Branch Structure Attached DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Management of the production of the ACTEW board approved budget for inclusion in Whole of Government budget papers and the Statement of Corporate Intent. Manage the continual update of the ACTEW finance model for presentation of future operational, regulatory and capex implications to relevant stakeholders. Manage the continual forecast of ACTEW’s cash position and monitoring of timing of investments including banking and treasury related services. Keep abreast of changes to the Australian Accounting Standards and/or economic development that may impact on ACTEW and provide a high level of assistance in providing advice to the Board. Assist in identification and implementation of process improvements including development of effective reports and knowledge management. Manage and develop the Financial Strategy and Planning team. Support other accounting and finance functions. Have demonstrated excellent quantitative, financial and analytical skills within a commercial environment with extensive experience in the industry. Highly competent in the use of complex financial reporting systems such as Oracle and Microsoft Office especially Excel. Demonstrated high level of competence in business report writing and documentation of processes.
