Committed to Manchester's young people for life FUNDRAISING TEAM JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Fundraising Assistant Location: The Organisation’s headquarters, located in Sharston, Manchester Hours: Full Time Date: November 2015 Responsible to: Grade: A3 Salary: £16,535 Head of Fundraising Primary internal working relationships: Fundraising Team, Finance Team Primary external working relationships: Supporters, potential supporters, churches Summary of main purpose of the job: Under the direction of the Head of Fundraising the Fundraising Assistant is responsible for ensuring that all donations are quickly and efficiently processed and for ensuring donors are thanked in a timely fashion. The Fundraising Assistant will also be required to produce reports and analysis from the supporter database and to provide support for fundraising activities (for example processing event bookings) as directed by the Head of Fundraising. Main duties and responsibilities: Gift Processing Managing Direct Debits from donors and the bank, and receipting appropriately: set-ups, changes, cancellations and processing Direct Debit claims. Managing Standing Orders from donors and the bank, and receipting appropriately: set-ups, changes, reporting on & following up on cancellations and process payments received. Managing Gift Aid Declarations: set up, changes, cancellations and maintenance of accurate records. Managing One-Off Gifts (for example Cash, Cheques, and Charity Vouchers) and receipting appropriately: set-up and process payments. Producing Annual Gift Statements to be sent to our supporters. Working with the Fundraising Manager to monitor and continuously improve the thanking process to ensure appropriate thanking to all our donors. Providing accurate and timely reports on the performance of the Supporter Giver function. Training and supervising volunteers who will help with various aspects of these duties. Supporting Fundraising Activities Maintaining accuracy of supporter information on our supporter database. Processing event bookings. Entering fully into The Message Trust team life, including morning prayers, monthly prayer days and evening prayer and mission events. Undertaking any other duties appropriate to this level of post as requested, especially covering the duties of other Fundraising Team members as necessary. Actively seek to recruit and retain new Message donors through personal networking.
