HTM110HB – Industry Externship Preparation MAXIMIZE YOUR PROFESSIONAL PRESENCE ASSIGNMENT •∘__________________________________________________________________∘• March 23th, 2013 Penny Benson Hilton Hotel Conference Centre and Spa 8500 Warden Ave Markham, ON L6G 1A5 Dear Mrs. Benson, On Friday March 22 th, I’ve attended an Etiquette Workshop that was hosted at the Delta Hotel located on Highway 7 and Valhalla Dr. After gaining a great deal of knowledge on the correct and polite way to act during a dining, I am confident to say that I am able to represent our company with the most uphold respect. This would be in the case where I would attend meetings during a dinning and will be able to show that not only through how I communicate, but also how I perform at a table to represent the image our company is known for. From the way one positions their body to eat actually showcases to the guest how well-mannered and respectable we are to them. It also symbolizes how well structured our company is established. As a result, our clients would acknowledge this appropriate manner and be more willing to seek what our company has to offer. A little goes a long way, and I feel that through this knowledge that I’ve gained, it will definitely create opportunities and growth for our company. On top of the informative workshop, I’ve also received an opportunity to put what I’ve learnt to the test. I was given a breakfast throughout the presentation and was able to see for myself that knowing how to dine correctly was viewed to be very appealing and professional. The fee for the workshop and the breakfast came to a total of $45.00. I do not regret spending the money to gain such an incredible experience. Yes, I could have learnt this information myself through research and booklets, but having this taught by a professional such as Louise Fox herself, I knew I was gaining the best knowledge there is as to how she is the CEO of The Etiquette Leader, Owner of the Etiquette Ladies International and MannersTV.com. I would not need to reimburse the fee because I feel that it stands as nothing in comparison to the knowledge that I’ve gained which would last with me forever. It opened my eyes to see how important it is for how one acts at a table whether it is with friends or clients. It definitely represents how they are as a person and in my case, how well I can showcase my company to future clients. I definitely recommend this workshop for my other colleagues as to how I know they will appreciate and gain just as much as I have. As I‘ve already mentioned, just from the way one represents themselves at a table, it can really be taken into consideration from clients as to whether or not they want to do business with us. It’s beneficial to our company and as well as to our employees and from there; we will be able to increase the respect and growth for our status. It’s a winwin situation where they can take the knowledge that they’ve gained and applied to numerous situations that will definitely bring out the best results. For follow up information if you wish to see more in detail of the Etiquette Workshop that I’ve attended, here are a couple websites to the program that are running in the area: http://www.etiquetteladies.com/etiquette_ladies_home.php http://www.etiquetteleader.com/BusinessPrograms.html This has been such an uplifting experience to see how much more I can do to present a more noticeable and admired image of our company. It has greatly increased my confidence and I can’t wait to show that to our future clients. Sincerely, Mary Luu
