Before working on this assignment, you should read the Orientation Instruction file
located in the Assignments section of Sakai.
This assignment is worth 7 points. Unless otherwise noted below, each item is worth
one half point.

After you log into Sakai and set your notification preferences, answer these

4. Where is the course syllabus located in Sakai? (Describe how you navigate to it.)
Once logged into Sakai, I selected the IntroWebDev FTSP11 tab. From there, I located
the syllabus from the left navigation bar.
5. What is the last assignment of the semester and when is it due?
According to the syllabus and course calendar, the last assignment is the participation in
the Dreamweaver discussion forum. The forum is open March 4-March 11. Participation
must be completed by 11:45 pm on the 11th.
6. Summarize the first announcement of the semester.
In the first course announcement, Young Hoan Cho welcomed students and introduced
himself. He also provided a link to his website so students may learn more about him.
7. Which type of style sheets can you NOT use in any assignment except your Project
Web site?
As stated in the syllabus, we cannot use external style sheets for any assignment expect
our final project.
Tasks
8. Return to Sakai and introduce yourself to your classmates and instructor(s) in the
Student Lounge forum in Sakai. Your introduction should include your area of study,
your experience with distance education, your expectations for what you’ll learn in
this course, which operating system you are using (Mac vs. Windows), and any other
relevant information you’d like to share with your classmates.
9. Save this Orientation Activity file as “YourLastName_Orientation.doc”. (Your file
does not have to have the file extension of .doc. It can be a .docx, .rtf, or .txt. It should
NOT be .html.)
10. Create a folder called “orientation” in your www space on Bengal. (1 point)
11. Upload your completed orientation assignment to your new orientation folder on
Bengal. (This will be a document NOT an HTML file!!)
12. What is the URL to your Orientation assignment on Bengal? (You should include the
protocol to the file extension to get full credit for this question.) (1 point)
