• Widely used by students
• Not as widespread among faculty
• Now outdated
• New program called Sakai
– Open-source
– 70 partner institutions, 5 UC’s
• Currently being developed for use
at UC Davis
– Faculty Training
– Pilot program
– Focus Groups
• Planned deployment Fall 2006
Why switch to Sakai?
• Few programmers for
MyUCDavis
• Difficult to maintain
• Features are difficult to use
• Many features are not used
