The Project Highway is Legally, Safely and reliably placed in Commercial operation effective from 11th June 2010. The Concessionaire Obligation to Operate & Maintenance the Project Highway during the O&M period starts on the issue of Provisional completion certificate / completion certificate by NHAI. Thus the Concessionaire shall operate & Maintenance the project Facilities in accordance with the O&M requirements, by itself, or through a contractor possessing requisite technical, financial and managerial experts/capabilities. This report produces monthly record of the completion of operation & Maintenance requisites/schedules by the concessionaire within in the concession period of project corridor. Page 2 of 61 Section -1: Project Introduction 1.1 Project Introduction: The project work of Design, Construction, Development, Finance, Operation and Maintenance of “km 230.00 (Islam Nagar) to km km:278.00 (Kadthal) total length of 53,017 km on NH-7 in the State of Andhra Pradesh under North-South Corridor (NHDP Phase –II0 on BOT Annuity Basis, has been allotted to PATEL-KNR Heave Infrastructures PVT Ltd. Islam agar-Kadthal BOT (Annuity) Project is a part of North – South (NS) – Connecting high density metro corridor of Varanasi, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Kurnool, Ananthapur, Bangalore, Selam, and Madurai. Islam Nagar to Kadthal falls in the Nagpur – Hyderabad section of NH-7. This is the important link of NH7 Connecting the state Capital of Andhra Pradesh to second sub capitol adjoining the state ofMaharashtra. The stretch is also connects rural parts of the Andhra Pradesh, namely Nirmal and Naridigonda. The Project Corridors traverses generally plain rolling terrain in most of the length. The Location Map as shown below. The Package consists of 53.017 kms road length from Islamnagar (ch 229.580) to Kadthal (ch 282.652). The Proposed project involves the designing and widening of dual carriageways on either the left hand side (LHS) or right hand side (RHS) of the existing road. And from Islam Nagar to Wankidi village at ch: 251.300and remaining balance length is bypass. The Concessionaire appointed M/s. Patel Engineering Limited as their EPC Contractor and EPC Contractor have appointed as a sub Contractor of M/s KNR Constructions Limited for carrying out work under the scope of the project on the Project Highway. The Concessionaire was issued the Provisional Completion Certificate on 11th June 2010 and ready for Commercial operation from 11th June, 2010. This program is the basic indicator of the intended works by the O&M Team. Based on the experiences during this year of operations, maintenance program for the second year to be prepared. The maintenance of road consists of routine and periodic maintenance. Routine Maintenance: Routine Maintenance of road includes following Activities: (a) Maintenance of pavement (b) Maintenance of turned areas and landscaping (c) Maintenance of drainage system (d) General Cleaning including CD structures (e) Cleaning & maintenance of Building (f) Maintenance of road furniture (g) Maintenance of ROW fencing The Routine Maintenance activities and the schedule for the Project Road can be seen in the Revised Operation and Maintenance Programme for Routine Maintenance Work as shown below. Apart from maintenance activities mentioned in the Operation and Maintenance Programme, the repair works will be carried out as per timeline given in the Operation and Maintenance Manual.
