What is involved?

You will develop a broad knowledge and understanding of the engineering industry, its organisation, products
and processes through investigation, research and practical application.

You will develop a range of skills and techniques to meet the demands of modern engineering industries.

What will I study?

The course consists of two core units and two specialist units to complete the qualification:
1) Working Practices in Engineering
2) Using and Interpreting Engineering Information
3) Using Computer Aided Drawing Techniques in Engineering
4) Selecting and Using Secondary Machining Techniques to Remove Material
How will I be assessed?


Examination: - 25% - There will be a form of external assessment worth up to 25% of the qualification.
Coursework: - 75% - Units are internally assessed and externally moderated. Assignments range from practical
and written to oral presentations.

Be able to work effectively with other people and on my own.
Solve problems using innovation and creativity.
