Letter from the desk of Mrs. Ault
I can’t believe that quarter 1 is part of history. Congratulations to all of the students who made the honor
roll this quarter. We are now in the running for our B.UG.B.E.E program. Any student who brings up their
grade (or if they maintain an A for those who had an A and can’t raise it) they will join the B.U.G.B.E.E club.
Our goal is for all students to become members in at least one subject, but we are pulling for them to get it
in all subjects.
Between now and just before Thanksgiving we will be going over chapters 3-4 together. These chapters
look at being able to multiply and divide multi-digit numbers along with being able to solve decimal
problems using all the operations and being able to divide fractions. Students will be given a lot of notes
and handouts during these chapters. Please try to go over this information with your child.
MobyMax is still going on this quarter. Students will need 7 hours by mid-terms (which will be here before
you know it) and 14 hours by the end of the quarter. Students need to use the login information they
were given by me. I don’t have access to last year’s codes or user names. Most of the students did really
well with getting their MobyMax minutes in last quarter. If your child struggled, please help them create a
schedule and encourage them to stick with it. Time management can be a difficult concept to learn, and
this is a great way to practice it.
There will be a chapter 3 and 4 project due Nov. 9 th. The information will be passed out in class. The
chapter 1 projects were awesome – truly some of the best projects I’ve seen done in math. I loved the
posters, but I also loved how some of the students thought outside the box and create power points. Keep
up the great work!
We will be having a Halloween party this Friday. If your are planning on sending in a treat with your child
please let me know ahead of time so I know what we are looking at having. I would appreciate it if you
could make sure the treats are individually wrapped, so any leftovers can be taken home and not wasted.
Students that have had no behavior marks on their Warrior cards since the beginning of the year will have
a choice between going to a dance and staying in the room and watching a movie. This is part of our PBIS.
We want to reward excellent behavior. Students that have received a behavior mark will still have a party.
It will be in the classrooms. There will be a parade for the students to march in their costumes. The
parade will be outside weather dependent and start at 1:45. Please make sure that costumes are
appropriate with no weapons. They should also be easy to put on, since the students will not have much
time to get ready for the parade. Finally, students who have received 5 marks on their October cards will
be able to participate in a trick-or-treat style event Friday morning.
Finally, parent-teacher conferences are coming up very quickly. Please sign up to meet with us. My goal is
to meet with every one of my students’ parents. It is important to meet so we can not only discuss your
child’s progress, but also talk about his/her struggles, successes and goals. Your child is very important to
me and I want to do everything I can to help them be successful in math this year!

I think that is all the information I have for your for now. I am sure there will be more soon. Keep
checking my webpage for announcements and homework. I will also post upcoming important dates
(tests, projects, etc.). Feel free to call me with questions or concerns as they arise. See you all in
November!!!!
Announcements:
 Please try to limit calling in to the office and changing the transportation of your student at the end of
the day. We switch classes and it is sometimes difficult to make sure the messages get delivered to the
students.
 The students eat at 12:30 every day. I know that many get on the bus very early. If the students would
like to bring a healthy snack to eat mid-morning, they are welcome to.
 Kummerer’s class has won 2 our 3 of our weekly competitions and Price’s class has won 1. Keep up the
great work! Ault’s class I have no doubt you will win soon. Keep striving to be your best and supporting
one another.
