General Meetings
Annual General Meeting
19. The Union shall hold an Annual General Meeting once in each calendar year. Not more
than 18 months shall pass between the date of one annual general meeting and the
next. The Annual General Meeting shall be conducted in accordance with this
Constitution and the Regulations.
19.1. Each society and sports team of St.George’s Students Union must have one
ordinary member present at each General Meeting, be it Annual or Extraordinary,
in order to represent the interests of each society and sports team of the students
union and also to ensure that each general meeting of St. George’s Students
Union is representative of the student body as a whole.
19.2. Failure of a society or sports team to send one ordinary member to either an
Annual or Extraordinary General Meeting will result in the suspension of their
membership of St. George’s Students Union for a period of one year or until the
next general meeting has been called.

The changes I would like to add is the following under section (3), all members of the
executive:
3.18 - 'The personal circumstances and beliefs of an individual can be taken into account to
allow exemption of participation of certain duties and activities. This must be requested in
writing to the SU president for consideration in accordance with the
university's conscientious objection policy. Should the president have an objection,
submission should be requested to the dean for students or trustee board.'

In the case of T-Year MBBS Representatives, two members will be elected as MBBS4
Representatives and two members will be elected as MBBS5 Representatives. When elected
two representatives will be assigned to stream A, and two will be assigned to stream B by
means of random allocation by the academic registrar.

Community Projects Officer (CPO)
10.5 To be the central point of contact and liaison for community and volunteering
organisations, building on existing contacts and establishing new ones, with an aim to
increase the number of volunteering opportunities.
10.6 To be a link between the Executive, in particular the President, and between volunteers,
project leaders and outside organisations.
10.7 To organise the community projects evening during fresher’s fortnight involving the
community projects within the union and when possible external organisations. To liaise
with the Vice President for Finance and Student Activities with regards to this.
10.8 To organise and distribute advertising and promotional material, to promote the benefits
of individual projects as well as those of volunteering to the students, local organisations
and to the Institution and Trust.
10.9 To be a source of information and advice for potential students and staff volunteers as
well as providing on-going support for volunteers in planning and coordinating training.
10.10To work alongside Society Community Project Presidents and Project Workers members
to widen participation and help recruit volunteers to health related projects.
10.11To help volunteering clubs and societies in the organisation of special events.
10.12To help with fund-raising in coordination with the Charities Officers.
10.13To work with the Widening Participation team to implement the School’s action plan to
widen participation.
10.14To maintain links with ‘Vinvolved’ (formerly Millennium volunteers) ‘Giving to Georges’
and co-ordinate the scheme within the Union.
10.15To be the students’ union representative on the Wandsworth Policing Consultative
committee, which has meetings on a six monthly basis.
10.16To be the Medsin representative at external events representing all of the community
projects under the Medsin umbrella.
10.17To chair the Community Projects Committee meetings and ensure regular meetings are
had involving members of the various community projects.
10.18To be a Representive on Club/Society Finance Committee
10.19To be jointly responsible for the organisation of the Awards Evening.
10.20To be jointly responsible for the upkeep and management of the Students’ Union
Community Projects storages room
10.21To be a member of the Student Participation Zone.
