Students are required to attend classes. Each student is given 100 points for attendance. Students
retain attendance points by attending class regularly. Students are allowed one unexcused
absence. Five points will be subtracted from the 100 with each additional unexcused absence.

Grading
The final grade is based on the total points accumulated of the total possible 500 points. The
following is the grading distribution:
A = 90 to 100% = 450-500 total points
B = 80 to 89% = 400-449 total points
C = 70 to 79% = 350-399 total points
D = 60 to 69% = 300-349 total points
F = less than 300 total points

The plus/minus system will be used
Extra Credit Opportunities
Students will be given opportunities to earn additional credit toward the total 500-points

used for determining grades. Possible means of obtaining extra credit: film report, performance on
unannounced quiz, optional short answer assignment
