"Roni Einav, Technology Entrepreneur, Investor and Author" Raised in a typical Israeli family of the 1950s, Mr. Roni Einav, one of the first and most successful entrepreneurs of the Israeli high tech industry, began his professional entrepreneurship by founding Einav Systems in the 1970s in a small room in Tel Aviv – a daughter company of which he sold to an American mega-corporation for $680 million. Years later, he established Einav Hi Tec Assets, an investment company focused on technology ventures, of which he currently serves as Chairman. Roni has initiated over 25 venture investments during the past four decades. These include Liraz Computers (which went public on TASE), New Dimension Software (which went public on NASDAQ and was acquired by BMC Software), Jacada (traded on NASDAQ) and more. He has served as Chairman or Director of many of these companies and as an advisor to several other companies pro-bono. Mr. Einav holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Industrial Engineering, as well as a Master of Science degree in Operations Research from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. He has taught entrepreneurship and venture capital at the Technion and other academic institutions. Mr. Einav was a Major in the Israeli Defense Forces, where he served as a weapons systems analyst in a research and development division. In 2009, Mr. Einav’s co-authored autobiography was published in Hebrew by Kineret-ZmoraBitan. In 2012, the English translation – From Nordau to NASDAQ – was published by Kotarim International Publishers and is available on Amazon.com (paper and Kindle versions). Dozens of high-tech developments in Israel’s ‘Silicon Wadi’ have focused tremendous attention around the question of why such remarkable technological innovation developed in the tiny country of Israel in particular, spurring Israel’s own economic development. As an autobiography of one of Israeli technology’s founding fathers, Nordau to NASDAQ helps uncover some of the characteristics of Israeli innovators from up close, presenting a detailed account of the marvelous and sometimes desperate journey that has led to such unfathomable financial success.
