JOB DESCRIPTION Job title: Marketing and Events Coordinator Job Purpose: To promote the work and brand of International Service through marketing and events in the UK Reporting to: Communications manager Staff Reporting: / Location: International Service, UK Office (currently in York) Key Functions: 1 Develop an effective marketing strategy that supports the International Service mission, vision and global strategy 2 Planning and delivery of events and activities 3 Promotional and marketing activity 4 Monitoring, Evaluation and quality assurance 5 Other duties Responsibilities 1. Develop an effective marketing strategy that supports the International Service mission, vision and global strategy To lead the development and implementation of a marketing strategy to sustain and develop the positive public image of International Service To ensure the organisation’s core values are reflected across all our marketing activity 2. Planning and delivery of events and activities To plan and deliver a range of events for International Service including for volunteer recruitment, fundraising, and promotional purposes To work closely with partner agencies to plan and deliver promotional events and activities To actively seek out events and activities being run by other agencies in which International Service can participate and to plan and implement International Service’s engagement in such events 3. Promotional and marketing activity To design and produce promotional materials within agreed timescales, budget and brand To write engaging copy for a variety of audiences and ensure effective promotion and publication of promotional articles and copy both on line and in the media To coordinate the distribution of marketing materials according to the marketing strategy To ensure effective use of the marketing budget To make presentations to companies, businesses and organisations when necessary To participate in and represent International Service at meetings and events as required To develop PR and Media opportunities to raise International Services profile and reputation to an even higher level To ensure the active and meaningful involvement of the Patron and President in promotional and Marketing activities 4. Monitoring, Evaluation and quality assurance 5. To contribute to International Service monitoring and evaluation processes, specifically in the area of marketing and events To record all events on the Salesforce system To produce monthly analysis reports on the performance of marketing activities and events To provide reports for the Senior Management team, the CEO and Board of Trustees as required. To ensure compliance with data protection and data security legislation and policies at all times To ensure compliance with Health and Safety and equality requirements and International Service policies and procedures Other duties Any other duties as allocated by the Chief Executive including functional responsibilities and special projects. To maintain confidentiality over personal information relating to International Service staff and volunteers To promote International Service values and ethos at all times To maintain a positive, appropriate and professional relationship with all International Service staff, partners and volunteers 2 PERSON SPECIFICATION Essential Identified Desirable A/I* A Qualification in marketing or a related field Identified A/I* A Experience in website content management A/I Proficiency in French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic A strong eye for design and a creative thinker A/I Qualifications Education to degree level or equivalent Experience Experience in marketing or events or a related field Experience of working in the charitable sector or as a volunteer Excellent people skills Fluent English A/I Excellent writing and communication skills Highly organised and with excellent time management skills Competent with Word, Excel A good understanding of the internet as a marketing tool A/I Skills Knowledge A good understanding of social media A – Application I – Interview A/I I A/I A/I A/I A/I A/I Interest in the key issues of A/I development and the target groups of International Service A/I 3
