Student Academic Administration Academic staff Students Admin staff Student Academic Administration • SAA is Part of the Student Affairs Division • SAA provide a centralised administrative support to all students, faculty and staff • 15 Members in our team • 3 Broad Areas – Course/Programme Management – Scheduling – Records • Located at Room No E0-001 in the Main Building • Website: www.ul.ie/studentacademicadmin Student Academic Administration • All Processes/systems are governed by the University’s Handbook of Academic Regulations and Procedures – Associate Registrar will outline • SAA Administers procedures for the compliance of the University's Academic Regulations and Marks and Standards. • SAA facilitate all processes involved in the academic programme for staff, faculty and students Student Academic Administration • Course Management • SAA assist CD in submitting documentation via APRC process • Creation/Revision of programmes • Maintenance of programme/module changes approved by APRC • Scheduling • Key is accurate and timely data • Class Timetables – HOD and Scheduling Coordinator • End of Semester Examination Timetables – Requirements • End of Semester Examination administration – Student Academic Administration • Records – Dependent on accurate and timely data from all stakeholders, faculty, staff and students – Accurate communication/delivery/access to relevant documentation from SAA for various processes is critical e.g. module leaders name on Module, Course directors • Processes supported – On-line module registration (students confirm module choices in week 1 of each semester) • Provides access to SULIS to students, • Provides faculty with accurate class lists • Assists SAA in providing accurate services to all registered e.g. exam timetable class timetable – End of Semester Examination Timetable and Administration – faculty are responsible for informing SAA of formal written end of semester exams and the submission of papers to SAA Student Academic Administration – Electronic Grade Submission – module leaders are responsible for the submission of grades for their modules via electronic system Module Grade Entry (MGE) – Performance reports – at the end of each grading cycle student’s performance are examined and measured, SAA issue all reports to HOD. – Progression Decisions are made within the Academic Regulations. – Examination Boards (Graduate and non-graduate) – there are a number during the academic year – your ADAA will inform you how it is handled in your specific Faculty.
