JOB TITLE: Commercial Database & Insight Executive
DEPARTMENT: FRM – Fan Relationship Management
REPORTS TO: Commercial Database Manager

Job purpose
Fan Relationship Management is central to City Football Marketing’s global growth
plan. The FRM team’s primary goal is to build fan loyalty and growth across all
territories through an understanding of their behaviours and needs.
The Commercial Database & Insights Executive will provide support to ensure that
underlying data driving customer insight is accurate, providing audience selections
for campaigns and building insights based on data analysis

Key responsibilities
Campaign selections
 Provide support for campaign management in making selections from the
database for email, postal and SMS campaigns.
Data Management:
 Conduct data quality audits, maintenance and data cleansing
 Work with internal commercial departments, sponsors and external partners
to agree data collection, storage and sharing arrangements
 Perform data uploads and extractions from fan engagement platforms into the
master database
Insights
 Maintain and develop management information reports and help staff with
specific data searches and complex query definitions
 Track database growth performance
General responsibilities

Job Title: Commercial Database & Insight Executive
Department/Location: Fan Relationship Management / Manchester
Knowledge: the level and breadth of knowledge to do the job e.g. understanding of a defined
system, method or procedure, legal or regulatory frameworks etc
Essential
 Commercially oriented but comfortable with IT systems
 Ability to analyse data to provide insights and recommendations
 A good understanding of relational databases
 Ability to undertake quality audits and solve data quality problems
Desirable

Technical/work-based skills: skills specific to the job e.g. language competence, typing skills,
coaching skills etc
Essential
 Competence with Microsoft Office, advanced Excel user
 Understanding of SQL querying to analyse/ mine customer data
 Ability to deliver high quality presentations or data tables
Desirable
 Experience with business intelligence platforms like Qlikview, SAP and SAS Working
knowledge of CRM platforms like Salesforce
 Experience with ESPs
General skills and attributes: more general characteristics e.g. flexibility, communication skills, team

Experience: proven record of experience in a particular field, profession or specialism. Any period

 Minimum 2 years of experience in a database marketing function
 Will consider candidates with fewer years of professional experience, if can prove fit with
technical and general skills, and track record in setting and achieving ambitious goals

Qualifications: the level of educational, professional and/or occupational training required

 Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, Maths or Computer Science
