Manage, coordinate and plan production planning processes to ensure product is produced efficiently, on time, within budget and to standards. Support plant business unit’s goals of safety, quality, productivity and customer service. Work closely with the Purchasing department for procurement of materials. Work with quality/production to improve product quality issues. Provide leadership and direction in all aspects to ensure continuous improvement in manufacturing and warehousing operations. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. assigned: Other duties may be Work closely with sales and plant operations to provide necessary product quantities, correct orders, and on-time deliveries through proper daily production scheduling of packaging and processing materials for both production and rework orders. Maximize output, quality and profitability through optimal production planning and scheduling. Oversee the production planning process, draw up master production schedules and adjust schedules as needed to ensure support of customer requirements. Provide assistance and support as needed to ensure successful integration of logistics and materials management systems: Forecasting, Cycle Counting, SAP, EDI and MRP. Work closely with accounting on common goals: Systems updates, improvements to existing systems, new projects and CFR justifications to achieve: o o o o o o Proper stock rotation Accurate inventories (includes end of month) Proper inventory levels Accurate vendor charge-backs Timely return of defective materials Timely return of approved invoices Review and amend production work orders to determine ingredient data such as types, quantities, and specifications providing documentation returns to warehouse. Initiate timely communication with key plant personnel to maintain and improve existing organizational systems by identifying gaps and suggesting actions. N:JOBDESCRIPTION/MASTER.FRM Use SAP to generate production orders, close work orders, perform order settlements and COGI. Prepare and maintain production reports, collecting and tracking production data, reporting information and variances to management. Work directly with department heads to coordinate purchasing, production and distribution operations. Estimate production costs and implement cost control programs ensuring that production is cost effective. Coordinate activities of the manufacturing operations groups to help achieve overall plant performance goals and KPI’s. Work cooperatively with other managers on continuous improvement, and initiate and direct continuous improvement programs, while maintaining operating budgets. Identify key business initiatives to drive cost control/reduction and ensure action plans, execution and follow-up are completed. Provide assistance to all business units, support teams (maintenance, quality, logistics, engineering, etc.) and plant leadership team members to problem-solve and correct productionrelated issues. Responsible for recycling collection of plastic, cardboard, pallets and dunnage. Provide production leadership to address safety, production, quality and service issues. Maintain proper safety conditions of equipment and of Company assets. Maintain an organized, clean and safe work area. Adhere to all GMP and HACCP requirements and guidelines. Demonstrate leadership by complying with and supporting all safety practices/requirements, and all company guidelines, processes and policies. Maintain high morale and quality focus among plant personnel, and support the plant’s union-free status.
