To introduce you to the basic theories and practices of administration,
management and organisational behaviour appropriate to managers and
pastoral leaders in Church and voluntary service organisations. The module
will focus on managerial roles, analysing organisations from four theoretical
frameworks and will introduce you to the practice of planning and leading
Learning Outcomes:
On successful completion of this module the learner will be able to






Describe and articulate the foundation concepts of management and organisation theory;
Apply these concepts to organizational case studies;
Analyse organisational structures, the behaviour of people in organisations, organisational culture
and organisational politics;
Identify issues in strategic thinking and assess possible options and make recommendations;
Recognise and develop your own managerial abilities and style;
Reflect on your own experiences in organisations and write critically about them
