Good Morning, may I have your attention for the morning announcements.
Please stand and join Allie Wright of our Varsity Women’s Basketball team, who will lead in our
Pledge of Allegiance.
Any girl interested in playing softball this Spring should come by the office during your lunch to
sign up.
The ASVAB is the most widely used multiple-aptitude test in the world. This test measures your
strengths, weaknesses, and potential for future success. It also provides you with career
information for various civilian and military occupations and is an indicator for success in future
endeavors whether you choose to go to college, vocational school, or a military career. Any
10th, 11th or 12th grader interested in taking this test need to sign up on Ms. Smith’s door (room
220). The test will be administered on March 4th, 2016.
Attention Seniors: Over the course of the next two weeks applications are due for the following
scholarships: Ione M. Allen Music is due today, Gates Millennium Scholarship for minority and
underrepresented students is January 13th (we had a recipient last year who is on a full ride to
UNC Chapel Hill right now), Mensa is January 15th, and several College Foundation of WNC due
January 15th. There are links to these scholarships on the school’s website under scholarship
news. Many of these require students to establish a user account, so don’t procrastinate.

Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and FaceBook are all temporary ways of sharing and recording
your memories, thoughts, and ideas. There is no guarantee that these social media platforms
will even exist by your 10th and 20th high school class reunions. Your yearbook offers a
permanent, unchanging time capsule of your high school experience. Online and in school sales
have been extended through January 15th. Don’t miss this opportunity to reserve your ACRHS

Art Society will meet after school Wednesday in the Art Room from 3:15-4:10pm.
Calling all actors! Auditions for the Spring Musical, “Hello Dolly!” are taking place on
Wednesday Jan 20 or Thursday Jan 21 from 3-6pm in the auditorium. Auditions are open for
ALL students. Please plan on staying until 6pm on the day of your audition. For complete
details on the audition process and times please see Mr. G in room 130. Again, auditions are
open to ALL students for our spring musical!
We do begin our Fall Semester exams today. All students will take their 2nd period exam today.
We will be in a testing environment so students should remain in their classes throughout the
morning until we dismiss for 3rd period. Your 3rd period teacher will tell you which lunch your
class is assigned to today. Best wishes on your exams. A reminder we will not have signouts
during the exam blocks this week.
