OTHER SERVICES/HELP Mobile Outreach Peer Support (MOPS) Team Provides information on PSNE and other Organizations/Agencies they connect or contact with. This enables a network of referral amongst Mental Health to help people, especially when moving to other cities. Peer Support is available from the Team on request and they will when able meet with someone in the Community to provide. This team also provides WARMLINE training to other Organizations on request. There is no charge for the training. Please call the office for more information Peer Support/Resource Help Staff will help with understanding a letter or even filling out a form. Selfhelp is a viable learning technique and this service can only enhance it. We refer to others more knowledgeable when we cannot. We assist with education, independent living and self-advocacy whenever possible. Our goal is to help a Survivor prove to themselves they can be part of society and even have gainful employment or Volunteer . What is Peer Support? Peer Support is a person with lived experience helping another who needs help through a concern or issue. How Can A Peer Supporter Help? Provide Support (one-on-one) NO appointment necessary ∞ ∞ Sharing provides a different perspective to each other How Does PSNE do? By… ∞ Communications of positive change in the Mental Health system & promoting mental wellness Who is a Survivor? ∞ Enhances Education and awareness ∞ encourage with psychiatric facilities & other community organizations A Survivor is an individual who has experienced any or all of the following: ∞ Encourage self-advocacy when required on behalf of an individual ∞ Education of the general public to help eliminate stigma ∞ concerns around their own personal mental health and/or emotional health ∞ Support to attend daily requirements, ie: moral support for an appointment or join in an activity in the Organization ∞ Lessen feelings of isolation and encourage informed decision making ∞ sought support and/or counselling from a psychiatrist, psychologist, self-help group, Peer Support Mentor, or family doctor. ∞ Support while learning or even Volunteering until self-esteem in completing can be accomplished ∞ has had an admission to a psychiatric facility or received care on an out-patient basis ∞ Warm Line Peer Support in the evening and even Holidays ∞ Provides an alternative and/or augmentation to traditional mental health ∞ Provide daily programs to help with activity level. ∞ Internal & External Peer Support Groups ∞ Attendance of Mental Health Committees ∞ Encouraging other Community Services and/or Events to be more accepting and by participating with them or helping them as well.
