Students will learn the scientific methods of problem solving and will apply them in laboratory work. Class Procedures: 1. Begin Warm-up when you enter the room (will be posted on the board). 2. Follow timers and instructions for activity pacing. 3. Complete and submit Exit Ticket before leaving. Materials Needed: Writing Utensils and Highlighter Composition Notebook (not spiral) for Labs Notebook Paper or Spiral Notebook for Notes Optional Supplies for Classroom Sharing: Tissues and Paper Towels Index Cards Notebook Paper Grading Procedures: 60% Exams, Tests, or Projects 30% Labs/Quizzes 10% All other grades Makeup Work: Most assignments will be filed in the hanging folder at the back of the classroom. Labs can be made up during tutoring. In addition, assignments can be checked on my website’s calendar. Tutoring and Lab Makeups: Wednesday 6:45-7:15 and Thursday 2:15-2:45 * Or by appointment Late & Missing Work: Late/ Missing assignments must be submitted within ONE week of assigned date. Follow directions the first time they are given Stay on task during all assignments/ labs Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself Arrive to class on time and be seated Bring all required supplies to class Classroom Behavior: Food, drinks and gum are not allowed in class (water in a clear plastic bottle is an exception). The dress code will be strictly enforced. Cell phones will be confiscated when used without teacher permission There will be one Major Assessment every two weeks, on average. Students will be informed of the dates in class and they will be posted on my website calendar.
