in the same hour came forth fingers of a man's hand, and wrote over against
the candlestick upon the plaster of the wall of the king's palace; and the
king saw the part of the hand that wrote. then the king's countenance was
changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of his loins were
loosed, and his knees smote one against another. the king cried aloud to bring
in the astrologers, the chaldeans, and the soothsayers. and the king spake,
and said to the wise men of babylon, whosoever shall read this writing, and
show me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with scarlet, and have a
chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.
then came in all the king's wise men; but they could not read the writing, nor
make known to the king the interpretation thereof. then was king belshazzar
greatly troubled, and his countenance was changed in him, and his lords were
astonished. now the queen, by reason of the words of the king and his lords,
came into the banquet house; and the queen spake and said, o king, live
forever; let not thy thoughts trouble thee, nor let thy countenance be
changed; there is a man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy
gods; and in the days of thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like
the wisdom of the gods, was found in him; whom the king nebuchadnezzar thy
father, the king, i say, thy father, made master of the magicians,
astrologers, chaldeans, and soothsayers; forasmuch as an eZcellent spirit, and
knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and showing of hard
sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same daniel, whom the
king named belteshazzar; now let daniel be called, and he will show the
interpretation. the first codeword is othello.

Stage 6 - Solution
This stage is number six and it is a playfair cipher. The following
stage is number seven within the context of this competition and it is
encrypted according to an ADFGVX type cipher. When you attempt to
cryptanalyse stage seven you will see that it is more complicated than
a straight forward ADFGVX cipher. Unfortunately I can not give you
any more clues.
In terms of this stage the shibboleth that you should take note of
is molybdenum.
You will probably have noticed by now that each stage is in a
different cipher and is usually in an appropriate language. So the
Vigenere stage was in French and this playfair stage is in English.
If the pattern persists then the next stage will be in German. But
does the pattern persist?

Excerpt from Othello, Act 5, scene 2 (William Shakespeare)
Armstrong ====================================
Stage 9 - Cleartext
O! cursed, cursed slave. Whip me, ye devils,
From the possession of this heavenly sight!
Blow me about in winds! roast me in sulphur!
Wash me in steep-down gulfs of liquid fire!
O Desdemona! Desdemona! dead!
Only one more phase to go. Your token for this one is "Armstrong".
The final hurdle contains two ciphertexts. The longer one is encrypted with triple-DES in electronic code
book mode. It uses a 128-bit EDE key. The RSA public key cryptosystem has been used to encipher the tripleDES key; this forms the shorter ciphertext. The public exponent is 3735928559 in decimal and the public
modulus is the following 155-digit decimal integer:
10742 78829 12665 65907 17841 12799 42116 61266 39217 94753 29458
88778 17210 35546 41509 80121 87903 38329 26235 28109 07506 72083
50494 19964 33143 42555 83344 01855 80898 94268 92463.
Your task is to decipher the longer message and so discover the final code word. How you do this is up to you,
but it will almost certainly be much, much easier to break the RSA ciphertext by factoring the public modulus
than by any other approach.
Good luck!

RSA depends on factoring being computationally difficult
We factored a 155-digit (512-bit) number into two primes
Usually, 1024 bits is minimum length today
Adding one bit doubles the size of the composite but it does
NOT double the effort for factoring
Assuming Moores law, factoring a 1024 bit composite can be
done with the same effort forty years from now.

Department of Energy has ordered a 12000 processor Alpha
