There is an emphasis in terms of spice and chili tends to be more as opposed to less. Wuhan food can be very HOT. Popular Foods • Hot and Dry Noodle(re gan mian) – a typical food for breakfast • Duck’s neck or ya bozi • Bean pan or doupi – a filling of egg, rice, beef, mushrooms, and beans cooked between two round soybean skins and cut into pieces, structurally like a stuffed pizza without enclosing edges The Weather Wuhan has two main seasons, summer and winter. For most of the summer, it is very hot (over 30 degrees). Winter is much shorter… Winter temperatures rarely go below 0 degrees but when it is below 10 degrees, it is cold (feels cold) because of the humidity. There is no central heating in most buildings in Wuhan so it can be very cold inside as well as outside. As a Canadian, many winter days(and close to 0 degrees) generally feels much colder here than at home. Traffic # 1 rule: pedestrians never have the ‘right of way’…. including on sidewalks. Always be alert when walking in the city because vehicles (including bicycles) can come in any direction…..
