Mrs. Coombs About Mrs. Coombs: Born and raised in Orange County, CA. Graduated BYU in 2000 in Recreation Management/Youth Leadership. Worked in Education for most of the last 12 years. I’m blissfully married and have 2 wonderful kids— Aaron (2nd Grade) and Sarah (1st Grade) I love to travel and have lived in Portugal, Cabo VerdeWest Africa, and Israel. I love to bake, read, work out, and play games with my family and friends. What are we going to learn? Typing—without looking at your hands! History of Computers What’s inside a computer? ROM, RAM, CPU, etc. Microsoft Office Word Powerpoint Excel Paint Skills that will help you throughout your education and your life! Jr. High Computer Class Rules Come in quietly and begin bell work (typically Mavis Beacon, unless I tell you differently.) Work only on the computer to which you are assigned. Raise your hand to speak or get out of your seat. NEVER change any settings on the computer. Do not work in a program that you are not assigned to work in. NEVER go on the internet without permission. If you finish a project early, you may work on Mavis Beacon or read quietly. With permission, you may work on another project or in another program. No FOOD or DRINK in the library. Not even water bottles near the computers! Push in chairs before leaving. You may NOT leave until you have been dismissed. Work will be done in class. If you cannot finish a project in the allotted class time, you may come in after school during tutoring hours or arrange with me to finish your project at home. NO LATE WORK!! If you are absent, you have the number of days you were absent to make up missed work. If a project was due on the day you were absent, you must hand it in at the beginning of class when you return. If you are sitting next to someone who will distract you, please ask for me to move you. Live up to what I know you are capable of. Remember, you are what you repeatedly do.
