AUP Pre-Arrival Checklist
Confirmation Process
(before deadline specified in your accept pack)
□
□
□
□
Log into MyAUP.
Follow steps on website until all boxes are green.
You should see a page that says, “You are now Confirmed”.
As of mid-April additional steps will be made available to upload a photo, provide
administrative documents, request a bank account to be set up, verify your address, and
validate your housing status. You will find additional information about some of these steps
below.
Visa and Document Process for non-EU citizens
(begins April/May, ends July/August)
□
□
□
□
□
□
□
Request a birth certificate from your home country or county. It will need an apostille if you’ll
be staying 2 semesters or more at AUP. The process varies from location to location. You
will need to google Apostille + state/country for instructions. The birth certificate must be in
English or French. If you need to translate it, do so AFTER the apostille is added. Send a
scanned copy to prearrival@aup.edu.
Register with CampusFrance (This can be done at the end of April/early May)
Make your visa appointment with your local French consulate. You can call or go online to
schedule your appointment at any time, but the appointment should be 4 weeks after you
submit your CampusFrance application, and no sooner than 90 days before your arrival day
in France.
Before going to your consular appointment, see your Consulate’s website for the necessary
paperwork to bring with you.
Students staying 2 semesters or more at AUP should request an OFII form at their consular
meeting. Visiting students staying only one semester will only need it if they wish to work or
want the possibility to extend their stay. See your accept pack for more information.
When you receive your visa, send a color scan of the passport info and visa pages to
prearrival@aup.edu.
Email your admissions counselor that you’ve received your visa.
Housing Steps
(begins upon confirmation)

□
Complete housing form on MyAUP during the confirmation process (see below)
Enter housing confirmation code into the MyAUP pre-arrival steps once you have received it.

Undergraduate students staying with Comforts of Home (CoH)
□
□
Register on CoH website (http://comfortsofparis.com/welcome-aup) before the confirmation
deadline listed in your accept pack.
Complete CoH roommate preference form and pay deposit.
□
□
Review roommate and housing assignments which you will receive two weeks prior to
Orientation.
You will be taken to your new home when you arrive in Paris.
Financial Aid and Payment Process
(February to August)
□
□
□
□
□
AUP financial aid applications can be submitted in February, after you receive your tax
returns.
If necessary, apply for federal or private loans (Stafford, PLUS, or Smart Option Loan). Use
“AUP loan guide” included in your Financial Aid Award email (ask your counselor for the
guide if you’re unsure). Tell your counselor you are applying for loans.
Once payment plan is selected in the online confirmation process, you can check your status
on MyLedger on the MyAUP portal (this will be updated in June or July).
Should scholarships and financial aid awards not appear on your invoice or on your
MyLedger on MyAUP, make payments based on the amount invoiced less scholarships and
tuition awards you have been granted. (See the Financial Aid award email for reference).
If your tuition will be fully covered by loans, you are not bound by payment deadlines, even
though you may receive email reminders.
Bank Account Set Up
(late July/August)
□
Information for setting up your bank account will be sent in late July. You can follow the
instructional email at that time.
Book Your Flights
(June-August)
□
□
□
□
You need to arrive on the date specified on our Orientation section of the Information for
Admitted Students page.
If you plan on arriving earlier than the arrival date posted on our website, you will be
responsible for your own housing and transportation.

If the arrival date is a problem for you, notify your admissions counselor immediately.
