Spring Pre-Arrival Checklist All of these items can be started as of September and should be completed as soon as possible. For more information, refer to the Getting Ready booklet that was included in your admissions packet or go to https://www.aup.edu/admissions/admitted-students Confirmation Process □ □ □ Log into MyAUP. Follow steps on website, until all boxes are green. You should see a page that says, “You are now Confirmed”. Documents to request □ □ □ If your email address is linked to your school, change it to a permanent email (yahoo, gmail, etc) on MyAUP and inform your admissions counselor. If applicable, request a birth certificate from your home country or county. Send a scanned copy to prearrival@aup.edu . The birth certificate must be translated into French by an authorized translator. One-semester visiting students do not need to provide a birth certificate. Request that your school send final official transcripts and leaving exam results to AUP. You can verify if they have been received by checking “document tracking” on MyAUP. If you are currently taking classes, wait until final grades have been released to make the request. Visa Process – not required of European Union nationals or permanent residents of France □ □ □ □ □ □ Register with CampusFrance. Make your visa appointment with your local Consulate. You can call or go online to schedule your appointment at any time, but the appointment should be 4 weeks after you submit your CampusFrance application, and no sooner than 90 days before your arrival day in France. Before going to your consular appointment, see your Consulate’s website for the necessary paperwork to bring with you. Students staying 2 semesters or more at AUP should request an OFII form at their consular meeting. Visiting students staying one semester will only need it if they wish to work, or want the possibility to extend their stay - contact your admissions counselor for more information. Once you receive your visa - send a color scan of Passport and Visa pages to prearrival@aup.edu Email your admissions counselor that you’ve received your visa. Housing Steps □ □ □ □ □ Complete the housing form on MyAUP during the confirmation steps (non-binding). Students requesting home stays and exemptions: download required home stay or exemption form from MyAUP and follow their instructions. Students using Comforts of Home (CoH), register on CoH website (http://comfortsofparis.com/welcome-aup) before the confirmation deadline listed in your accept pack. Complete CoH roommate preference form and pay deposit. Receive and review roommate and housing assignments two weeks prior to arrival. Financial Aid and Payment Process □ □ □ □ If necessary, apply for federal or private loans (Parent PLUS or other) use AUP Loan guide included in your FA Award email. Once payment plan is selected, you can check your status on MyLedger on the MyAUP portal. Should scholarships and financial aid awards not appear on your invoice or on your MyLedger on MyAUP, make payments based on the amount given less scholarships and tuition grants you have been awarded. If your tuition will be fully covered by loans, you are not bound by payment deadlines, even though you may receive email reminders. Bank Account Set Up □ Complete the banking step in the pre-arrival section of MyAUP. Make a copy of your certificate of admission, included in your admissions packet, to give to the bank. Book Your Flights □ □ □ □ You will want to arrive on the date specified on our Orientation Section of the Information for Admitted Students Page and in your admissions packet. If you plan on arriving earlier, you will be responsible for your own housing and transportation. If you arrive on the posted arrival day, you may want to sign up for university provided transportation (shuttle) on MyAUP. If the arrival date is a problem for you; notify your admissions counselor immediately. Documents You Need When Arriving at Orientation □ □ □ □ □ Birth Certificate with notarized French translation. One-semester visitors are exempt. Passport or EU ID (all students) with Stamped Visa (non-EU citizens). The valid OFII form (visa de Long séjour – Demande d’attestation OFII) returned to you and stamped by the French consulate – one semester visiting students are exempt. If AUP has not yet received them, bring final official high school transcripts and college transcripts in a SEALED envelope issued directly by the school. Leaving exam results (French Bac, IB, Abitur, etc) – if applicable. Extras and Sanity Savers □ □ □ □ If you are a transfer student or student with advanced credit (Aps, French Bac, A levels, IB, etc.) make sure to be in contact with your counselor about your transfer and advanced credit evaluations. Be in contact with your admissions counselor as much as possible about the status of your arrival preparations. Bring 3 months of any medications and/or contact lenses; as well as the prescription for them (for customs). Check out the Admitted Students webpage with tips on preparing for your arrival and updates on your Orientation schedule as the first day gets closer.
