• Provides counsel and support to students re:

• Communicates with university departments,
consortium and students re: university policies

Placement Coordinator
• Coordinates student clinical placements in
collaboration with the NP Program

• Prepares and sends out placement

• Reviews student evaluations of clinical

• All MScN/NP students MUST complete the Practicum Clinical
Preparedness Permit prior the start date of the practicum

Clinical Placements
• All placements are secured and maintained by
the Placement Coordinator at York University
• Students do not arrange their own placements
• Placements secured without authorization will
not be honored
• Clinical Request Forms for AHAD, Therapeutics,
and the Integrative Practicum are available on
the NP Website; include current workplace and
access to transportation
Clinical Placements
• Placements take into consideration the learning
needs of the student and the opportunities in the
placement site.
• Students will not be placed in their workplaces
• Clinical placement takes place predominantly in
primary health care settings but will also include
hospitals and LTC facilities.
Clinical Placements
• Placements are not subject to student approval
• Students are responsible for their own travel
arrangements and any costs (parking, transit)
• Access to a motor vehicle is not a pre-requisite
but is strongly encouraged
Clinical Placements
• Funds are available to supplement travel costs
for students who are posted in specific rural and
remote locales
• Students will be notified regarding confirmed
placements at least 2 weeks prior to the start of
term in most cases.

Central Registry Data Base
(CRDB)
• The NP Central Registration is an on-line
form completed by all students in the NP
Consortium
• Demographic data, Course Plan and NP
Network Registration
• CRDB is available on available on-line at:

• The information you provide in your NP
Course Plan goes to the CRDB
• The CRDB is not a registering system; you
must ensure you are registered for your
courses through your home university
