6th, 7th and 8th Grade
Objectives:




Students will perform a variety of exercises to help improve
flexibility, muscular strength and cardiovascular endurance.
Students will be able to execute basic skills needed to play a variety
of team sports and activities.
Students will be able to show a basic understanding of rules and
scoring for all games and activities.
Students will be able to showcase the ability to work together as a
team toward a common goal.
Students are to be prepared for outdoor weather at all times!!
Activity:
Students will continue with the Marine Physical Fitness Testing. This includes the
following 6 events

Mile run
50 yard dash
Standing long jump
Pull-ups
Push-ups
2 Minute Sit up test
These tests are not for a grade. Their scores are only look at for improvement for the
duration of their TMS education. The students are expected to put forth their best
effort at all times. With each test you could earn 100 fitness points. If a student can
reach 450 points after all 6 tests, they will receive the Presidential Fitness award!!
We will continue to work on improving our mile times by recording a weekly time of
1 lap around the track. The students are working to improve their individual mile
time by continuing to push themselves. (MCL)
We will continue with our volleyball unit for the month of Dec. We will work on
bumping, setting and serving. The students will display knowledge of rotation and
scoring. We will also introduce trivolley, which involves more strategic play.

Health
6th Grade
Students will report to the gymnasium for Health class. 6th grade students will be in
Health class on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Objectives:
SWBAT identify the steps in the decision making process
SWBAT define self concept and self esteem and discuss how they are related.
SWBAT define values and beliefs and discuss why they are important.

8th grade
Students will report to the room gymnasium for Health class. 8th grade students will

SWBAT identify the parts of the female and male reproductive systems.
SWBAT identify and describe the trimesters of pregnancy.

This year we are continuing to implement the Olweus Bullying Program. We
expect the students to know, understand and follow the Bullying expectations.
