Trustees Meeting Europaeum Lecture 5th: Meeting of international Europaeum Board of Trustees, chaired by Dr Pierre Keller, to review current and future Europaeum policies, in London. Jenkins Scholars 5th: Celebration to mark 10th Anniversary of Jenkins Scholars Awards, to be held in concert with donors, past scholars, supporters and members of Jenkins Memorial Board, with Lord (Chris) Patten, Adonis and Sir Anthony Kenny, Baroness (Shirley) Williams and many others including many Jenkins scholars, at the Reform Club, London. Graduate Workshop 5th-8th: For select graduate students, Climate Change, Waters & Cities: what future for Europe? The workshop starts in Amsterdam during the annual World Water Week Forum and continues at Leiden. Graduate Workshop 12th-16th: For select graduate students on Democracy in Times of Crisis linked to an international conference at Charles University in Prague, with Dr Nick Bunnin (Oxford), Professor Jan Sokol (Prague), Professor Chantal Mouffe (London) and others. January 2014 Jenkins Memorial Fund 20th: Closing date for applications for up to six Jenkins Scholarships awarded annually, in honour of Roy Jenkins, linked to Europaeum universities. February 2014 European Policy Seminar 10th-12th: Graduate workshop to be held in the European Parliament in Brussels, on European PolicyMaking, involving EU officials, experts, policy-makers, run by IEPLisbon and Europaeum 19th: Jussi Hanhimäki (Geneva) Professor of International History and Politics, on The Legacy of Henry Kissinger at St. Antony’s College, Oxford University with Professor Margaret MacMillan as chair (Oxford). June 2014 Graduate Debate Part of an international conference, with prominent international speakers, hosted by Institute for Political Studies, Catholic University, Lisbon, on Democracy 25 Years After the Fall of the Wall. July 2014 Summer School Meeting to review the Consortium’s academic policy. (details tbc) Annual Summer School on Gender in Europe: unfinished revolution ? with 30 selected Europaeum graduates from member universities and contributions from keynote experts from academe, the judiciary, ECHR, NGOs and politics, to be held at UCM Madrid. May 2014 September 2014 April 2014 Steering Group Meeting Conference Policy Forum Europaeum Joint Teaching International conference on Academic Freedom: Universities in East & Central Europe since the Fall of the Wall, at Jagiellonian University as part of Krakow’s 650th Anniversary, with Europaeum rectors, Sir Peter Scott (London), Voldemar Tomusk (Soros Open Society Institute) and Bahram Bekhradnia (Higher Education Policy Institute). Launch of the 10th academic year of the jointly offered MA in European History and Civilisation, linking the Universities of Leiden, Paris 1 and Oxford.
