Assignment #5: How to Evaluate PowerPoint Presentations (PPT) (20pts) 1-2
days
Must use complete sentences.
1. Pick a historical figure, person of personal interest, or an event.
The person you pick should be school appropriate! If you are not sure, ‘ask me.’
2. Your task is to find three PPT presentations that are available on the web. You will
evaluate the three and decide which is best after filling out the spread sheet on the next
page. This may require going back to the first one or second after viewing the third to
help you decide.
3. Use Google.com to find PPTs. You will use the ‘Advanced Search’ feature and limit your
searches to PPT format.
Example: PPT+William Wallace or PowerPoint+William Wallace
4. Make sure you support why the one selected is the best of the three. Be thorough in
your answer. One or two sentences DOES NOT support your reasoning.
5. After you fill out the Spread sheet on the next page, completed the supporting
comment box, make sure your name and date data field is filled in on the spread sheet.
6. Save it to your documents your Integrated Tech – 8 on your H: drive or on your desktop.

In the box provided and based on your answers from above, list the best PPT and explain why?
Be thorough in your explanation as to why. One or two sentences DOES NOT support your
reasoning. Write a paragraph explaining. Paragraphs usually are at a minimum of seven (7)
sentences in length.
I liked the 2nd PowerPoint the best because it had the most information and the
most detail. I think it was also the prettiest because it had the most paintings and illustrations.
Also whenever it was talking about a location it had a map to show you said location. I liked
how they didn’t just talk about napoleon they also talked about what was going on in France. I
liked the open ending it was a good way to end the PowerPoint. I loved the paintings it had they
were beautiful. I found the second power point to be the prettiest because it had lots of
illustrations and artwork and lots of information.
