Ghet Go Fitness Classes
Accessible Exercise Class
Hip Hop dance group.
Join the Biomechanics accessible class where you
can use professional gym equipment and join in fun

Special Olympics Melbourne West
Special Olympics is a volunteer organization that
offers opportunities for children and adults with
intellectual disability to engage in a range of sports
– for leisure and competition. Athletes make new
friends as well as improve their skills, build their
confidence and enjoy the thrill of competing
against fellow sportspeople with similar abilities.
Importantly, Special Olympics is for all abilities, not
just the fittest and the fastest!

Accessible Netball
Volunteers are always needed to coach, assist
with training, setting up new sports or
administration – so, if you find helping people
rewarding and want to make a difference in your

help transform the lives of people with intellectual
disability through sport.

Vic’s Flicks - Monthly classic movie screenings
Council, in partnership with Vic’s Flicks, runs free monthly classic movie screenings for residents who are

Moonee Valley Men’s Shed
The Moonee Valley Men’s Shed is a fully equipped workshop where both
skilled and unskilled men share time together producing quality products
from a variety of materials.
Activities include personal projects, designing, making, repairing various
items, one off projects for local community needs, as well as designing
and making craft items for sale and donation

Interchange Western
Interchange Western is an independent, non-profit
organisation providing respite, recreation, social
support and parent support services to families
who have a child or young adult with a disability,
living at home, aged 0 – 40 years.
Volunteering in Moonee Valley
Volunteering is a great way to build skills, make
friends and get involved with your local community.
No experience is necessary, just a keen interest
and friendly attitude!
Council offers a range of volunteering opportunities
for people with different skills, abilities and interests.
Opportunities include the PetLinks program which
allows volunteers to support older residents by
taking their dog for a walk and providing valuable
social contact. Volunteers can also deliver books to
local residents as part of the library’s home delivery
service, or plant trees as part of an environmental
volunteers group.

Saturday Night Live
A Disco where those aged 18-35 years, can
dance, socialise and have fun.

‘Adventures Are Us’ School Holiday Program
The Adventures Are Us School Holiday Program is
administered, planned and co-ordinated by Moonee
Valley City Council’s Aged and Disability Services,
in partnership with Western Autistic School.
Adventures Are Us is a safe, planned and coordinated community-based program, offering a
wide range of fun, age-appropriate and accessible
activities and outings. The program is available to
children aged 5 to 12 years, who have been
diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
When: The program operates over three days of
both weeks of the Victorian school holidays, with
the exception of the January school holidays where
it operates over three weeks. The days of operation
are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The times
of operation are 9am to 3pm.

Community dining rooms
Council has three dining rooms in Moonee Valley where a midday meal is served in a social setting.
A three-course midday meal is served including orange juice, soup, main course (meat and vegetables)
and a dessert.
Modified, vegetarian and prescribed special and culturally specific diets, as well as soft and vitamised
meals, are catered for.

Council offers accessible and affordable transport to residents with a disability who cannot use public
transport to access services and social activities.
Community transport operates Monday to Friday and is available to individuals and groups accessing
community facilities.
