Welcome to the Department of
Communication & Theatre
The Department of Communication and Theatre is
unique in Tennessee with our approach to
communication: we want you to learn both in the
classroom and with a "hands on" approach beginning
your Freshmen year!
We have more than 600 undergraduate Communication
Arts majors enrolled in our programs. We even offer a
Master's degree in Communication Arts with more than
150 students enrolled from all over the United States in
our all online program.
We have experienced and expert faculty who not only
have the appropriate academic degree but also "real
world," communication industry experience. Our facilities
include a 24/7 radio station (WAPX-FM) and cable TV
channel (The Gov's Cable Channel 99). state-of-the art
digital video editing bays, a Web design computer
laboratory, and a telephone-computer research center.
Students can help produce the many APSU athletic and
other special events broadcast on the radio and cable
channel and streamed online.
We welcome your interest, and invite you to our majors
already studying and practicing communication at Austin
Peay.
