Greetings from Team Campus Connect and MSRIT!
On behalf of Infosys Limited and MSRIT, we would like to extend our greetings and invite you to
take part in the Campus Connect Train the Trainer Workshop (TTT) on “Business Intelligence”,
which is a part of the Campus Connect initiative.
Infosys has created educational infrastructure to enable our new recruits to attain global benchmarks.
Infosys has a vibrant mix of faculty specialized in computer science and experienced in industry
practices, who enable fresh recruits to be “industry ready”. This program is a platform through
which the company want to share with the faculties of their partnering Engineering Colleges,
Autonomous Institutions, Universities about the latest trends and developments in the IT industry.
This Train the Trainer Program is a full time program for a duration of three days co-hosted by
Infosys Limited, Bangalore and M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology, Bangalore from 5th
August 2014 to 7th August 2014 and will be held at M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology,
Bangalore. Accommodation for outstation participants will be provided by
M S Ramaiah
Institute of Technology, Bangalore. The local participants from Bangalore can make use of the
transportation provided by the college (college bus facility) which is already existing , or make your
own arrangements.
The objective of this program is:
To enable the faculty of Campus Connect partnering institutions with Infosys industry experience,
which in turn will help orient the students to “industry-readiness” by practicing the learning in the
courses delivered or projects implemented at the institution
 To provide an opportunity to partnering college faculties to get exposed to industry best-practices
in Business Intelligence
 To provide a networking platform to the partner colleges leading to a mutual learning experience.
This program will cover the following topics:
 Digital Data
 Business View of IT Applications
 OLTP Vs. OLAP
 Why, What and How BI?
 BI Framework and Components
 Data Integration
 Data Warehouse vs. Data Mart vs. ODS
 Concepts of Dimensions, Facts, Cubes, Attribute, Hierarchies
 ER Modeling vs. Multi-Dimensional Modeling
 Introduction to Business Metrics and KPIs
 Tools sessions using Pentaho
The eligibility criteria for faculty are as follows:
 The faculty member should be a permanent faculty from CS Major (Computer Science,
Information Science, Information Technology, MCA) Departments
 The faculty member should have 2-8 years teaching experience
 The faculty member should be familiar with Database knowledge
 The faculty members must be part of the core team driving the FP deployment at the institution/
running CC BI elective in the college
Please refer to the attached FAQ document for more information on this program.
We request you to nominate TWO (2) faculty members from your Institution such that they
meet the eligibility criteria through Event Management System, Infosys Portal on or before
Wednesday, 23rd July 2014. Confirmation to this program will be on first-cum-first-served
basis and completion of prescribed pre-work as we have limited seats.
