Unemployment rate, Okun's Law, inflation, and the Phillips Curve. Bond prices and yields.
The Expectations Hypothesis. Real and nominal rates of interest. Forecasting with the yield
curve.
International indicators: Trade balance, current account and capital flows: Balance of
payments accounts. The sustainability of current account deficits and large foreign debt: the
role of the capital account. Nominal and real exchange rates and the PPP. Fixed exchange
rates, real exchange rate appreciation and current account deficits. Interest rates and
exchange rates: the covered interest rate parity condition (CIPC), the uncovered interest rate
