RICHARD VAN WEELDEN Richard Van Weelden is Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Chicago. Previously he was a Post‐Doctoral Fellow at the European University Institute. He received a PhD from Yale University in December 2010. His research interests are mainly in applied game theory and political economy. Specifically, they include voting, candidate competition, communication, and political agency models. His research has been published in leading journals of economics and political science, including the Journal of Public Economics and the Quarterly Journal of Political Science.
